Double Homicide in Rosario: Young Driver Indicted

A 20-year-old young man identified as Agustín L. is currently hospitalized, and judicial authorities are waiting for him to be discharged in order to formally accuse him. The Prosecutor's Office plans to charge him with double simple homicide with eventual intent in relation to an accident in which he was involved.

The spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office mentioned: "This is all under investigation, and if it can be conclusively determined that they were conducting a speed test, the prosecutor will proceed with the appropriate legal steps." Regarding the accusation, it was explained that the qualification of simple homicide with eventual intent is a policy of the Road Traffic Accident Agency of the Prosecutor's Office of Rosario.

The young driver is currently under police custody at the Clemente Alvarez Emergency Hospital (Heca), where he is recovering from thoracic and lumbar trauma. The accident occurred when a Peugeot 206 lost control and ran over a family of Córdoba tourists who were walking in the Costanera area of Rosario on Tuesday night. In the incident, Tania Daniela Gandolfi, 41 years old, and her teenage daughter Agustina Magalí García, 16 years old, died, while another girl was seriously injured.

A witness recounted that the victims' father approached the driver after the accident and, in tears and fury, told him: "You left me without my daughter." The tragedy moved those who witnessed the pain of the affected family. It has been confirmed that the young driver will be charged with double homicide, which carries a penalty of 8 to 25 years in prison. The vehicle collided with the victims at over 120 km/h, and there are suspicions that he was participating in a street race with a motorcyclist.

Authorities continue to analyze available evidence, including security videos showing the vehicle traveling at high speeds in an area where the limit was 60 km/h. The investigation continues to clarify the facts and fully determine the circumstances of the tragic accident.
